Any plane travel longer than a few hours can turn into an unpleasant and painful experience! On my trip to Miami, I didn’t worry about the flight and when I landed… Well, let’s just say it wasn’t pretty. My skin and lips were totally dry and dehydrated, my neck really hurt and the list of complaints didn’t end here.. I don’t want you to go through the same experience! That’s why I made a list with some long flight essentials that will make your next travels easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Loose and comfortable pants
When you’re stuck to a chair for a long period of time, the last thing you want is clothing that difficult your movements. The tight pants that usually don’t create any discomfort are the worst when you’re trying to find the best position to sleep. The best thing to do is to wear loose and comfortable pants! I don’t recommend wearing shorts or skirts because the temperatures on the plane can be really low.
Long scarf
A big scarf is essential to take on long plane trips! Even though the airlines provide blankets during long course travels, a scarf will help you cover any part that may have not been covered.
Lip balm
The air inside the planes is very dry, so it’s normal that your lips will start getting really dehydrated. A good lip balm will save the day by helping you hydrating your lips!
Moisturising cream
Unfortunately, our lips aren’t the only suffering the consequences of the dry air in the airplane. A small package of moisturising cream for your hands and face will help you feel much more comfortable.
Earphones and adapter
The earphones provided by the airlines are not the best! If you want to listen to music or even watch a movie with good sound quality, it’s better to take your own earphones. Also, don’t forget an adapter so that you can connect them to the airplane system.
Toothbrush and toothpaste
There’s nothing worth than bad breath! There are many travel kits with a toothbrush and a toothpaste in supermarkets or pharmacies. These kits will be very useful to keep your breath fresh until the end of the flight!
Book or magazines
Sometimes, after one, two or even three movies, you’ll want to vary your source of entertainment. A book or a magazine can be a good alternative. A long flight is also a good opportunity to finally get your readings up to date!
Contact lens kit
This item isn’t for everyone. But if you wear contact lenses, this one is for you. The dry air will make your contact lenses feel like paper in your eyes. It’s important to take a kit and an adequate liquid so that you can replace the contact lenses during the flight.
Earplugs
Earplugs are one of the best allies during long flights! The other passengers don’t have the same sleeping habits as you and, if while you’re trying to fall asleep, your neighbours decide that it is a good time to have a chat on the plane, earplugs will make sure nobody disturbs your beauty sleep.
Blindfold
Well, earplugs and a blindfold make the perfect kit for a good sleep. You won’t even remember you’re on a plane.
Inflatable neck cushion
Lastly but not least, don’t forget to take an inflatable neck cushion. Most airlines provide pillows for long flights but an inflatable neck cushion will adjust much better and provide you with more comfort!
These are some long flight essentials you need to make sure to pack in your next trip! If you remember another one, feel free to leave us a comment!
