Winter is drawing nearer and you start to feel that urge to stay at home on the sofa watching films and eating chocolate. But how about embarking on a last-minute getaway? Stay on this side and check out the November suggestions we have for you. You can travel to Marrakech or Tenerife to spend your days sipping cocktails and enjoying the balmy temperatures. On the other hand, you can put on a warm jacket and board a plane to Milan, Amsterdam or Marseille.
Can you eat ice cream in winter? If you are in Italy (and not only), the answer is YES! But you can also eat pizza, lots of pizza and the so famous Italian pasta. But in Milan there is much more to do than just eat. Embark on a weekend getaway and lose yourself in the city streets, visit the cathedral, the galleries, the churches and the squares. If you can add another day to your trip, take a trip to Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.
Marrakech is a short trip from Portugal, which makes it the ideal destination to escape Europe. With mild temperatures, venture into the city of colours, smells (not always good) and flavours. In Marrakech all streets lead to the city’s main square, Jemma el-Fna, where everything happens and where one of the main entrances to the souks is located. Set off on a 3/4 day trip and enjoy a little getaway in the middle of the city’s typical hustle and bustle.

With temperatures hovering around 20º, Tenerife is one of the European destinations where you can hit the beach in November. Very different from the hustle and bustle of summer, this Spanish island is the perfect getaway to recharge your batteries. On a 4/5 day trip, enjoy the sunset at a bar by the beach or take one of the many hiking trails in the Teide Natural Park.
Very different from the previous suggestion, in November the cold is already felt in Amsterdam and so is Christmas. In the middle of November, Saint Nicholas arrives in Amsterdam, but he doesn’t bring Rudolph or the other reindeer. Santa arrives by boat and then rides around the city on a white horse. Set off for this 4-day getaway and be sure to try Amsterdam’s famous special sweets.
In the south of France, Marseille is the perfect city for a weekend getaway. Take your sunglasses, it’s said to be sunny 300 days a year, and stroll through the city’s historic streets and coolest neighbourhood, Cours Julien. If time permits take a boat trip around the Vieux Port at the end of the day to see the city’s transformation from day to night.
